Test Solution Design Engineer

In this role, you will design and develop electronic test solutions for defence and aerospace projects, including radar programmes and platforms like Eurofighter Typhoon. You’ll work within the Edinburgh team to translate stakeholder needs into robust technical approaches and drive solutions across the full design lifecycle. The position offers the chance to mentor engineers and contribute to high-impact programmes. You will operate in a security-sensitive environment with cross-functional collaboration and continuous learning.

• Support the creation and delivery of test solutions within a defined work package area, meeting performance, cost and schedule requirements
• Capture, analyse and mature stakeholder needs to determine optimum technical approaches
• Design and development of electronic hardware solutions across the full design lifecycle (concept to qualification)
• Produce high-quality design documentation and technical reports with configuration control and process compliance
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure architectural alignment within the programme
• Resolve technical issues by proposing robust solutions and escalate risks while supporting mitigation strategies
• Develop, coach and upskill engineers within the wider engineering community
