Testing manager

We are seeking an experienced Testing Manager to lead our quality assurance initiatives in Sheffield, United Kingdom. In this role, you will oversee the testing operations, manage a team of quality assurance professionals, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. You will be responsible for developing testing strategies, managing test execution, and driving continuous improvement in our testing processes.

• Lead and mentor a team of QA professionals, providing guidance, performance feedback, and career development opportunities
• Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans aligned with project objectives and organizational standards
• Oversee test case design, execution, and documentation to ensure thorough coverage and quality assurance
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and prioritize issues based on risk and business impact
• Manage defect tracking and resolution processes, ensuring timely communication with development teams
• Monitor and report on key quality metrics, test coverage, and testing progress to stakeholders
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and business analysts to understand requirements and define testing scope
• Evaluate and recommend testing tools, automation frameworks, and methodologies to enhance efficiency
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and best practices throughout the testing lifecycle
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to optimize testing workflows and reduce time-to-market

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in quality assurance and software testing, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership capacity
• Proven expertise in test planning, test case design, and test execution across multiple platforms and applications
• Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to manage and develop high-performing teams
• Proficiency in defect management and test reporting tools
• Solid understanding of automation testing concepts and frameworks
• Experience with risk analysis and test prioritization techniques
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Outstanding communication and stakeholder management abilities
• Proficiency in project management and organizational skills
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
• Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Knowledge of performance and security testing principles
• Experience with test management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, or similar platforms
• Basic programming language familiarity (Java, Python, or similar)
