Trade Control Analyst Calgary

Use advanced Excel and SQL to support trade control operations as a Trade Control Analyst in Calgary, Alberta, with Capital Power. Validate transactions and strengthen daily controls.

This permanent full-time position supports Middle Office activities within Capital Power’s Commodity Risk Management framework. The analyst validates deals in the ETRM, reviews confirmations, maintains exception reporting, and checks data for settlement and risk purposes. The work includes audit support, workflow configuration, and automation using AI tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily deal checkout and validate ETRM transactions
• Review and prepare bilateral transaction confirmations
• Maintain audit logs and produce compliance exception reports
• Validate data for settlement, invoicing, and risk reporting
• Develop, maintain, and execute Middle Office controls

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in business, finance, accounting, economics, audit, or risk
• One to two years of relevant experience preferred
• Experience utilizing AI in solution generation
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and intermediate SQL proficiency
• Exposure to ETRM systems and audit inquiries preferred
