Trading Application Support Engineer

Overview
In this role you support high-performance trading systems and data-intensive applications within a global, technology-driven prop trading environment. You will work closely with traders, quants and analytics teams to keep systems healthy, reliable and aligned with strategic goals. The role combines hands-on Linux, scripting and cloud work with collaboration across offices and release cycles. Your impact includes reducing downtime, optimizing data capture and enabling rapid strategy parameter rollout in a demanding financial setting.
Responsibilities- Monitor trading application health (UK/US) and route trader connections appropriately
- Ensure data capture services are running smoothly
- Investigate and fix failed scheduled jobs
- Collaborate with Data team
- Implement small enhancements to trader applications
- Assist with new release testing
- Help traders and quants test new strategy parameters
- Provide small customisations for local markets
- Support traders in scoping larger projects
- Collaborate with Projects team in other offices
- Support issues during London business hours
- Understand system architecture and metrics
- A STEM Degree
- Demonstratable interest in working in technology
- Good understanding of Linux OS
- Python
- SQL
- AWS
- Experience of Trading Systems ideally buy side
- Understanding of a mix of asset classes
- Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and contribute to rollout of solutions
