Overview

As a Trading Systems Engineer on the Cumberland team, you will support a world-class trading ecosystem and ensure high availability of critical systems. You’ll collaborate with traders, engineers, and partners to prevent incidents and solve complex technical issues in a 24/7 environment. You drive proactive monitoring, efficient deployment, and robust documentation to enable smooth operations. This role offers impact at the intersection of technology and finance, helping DRW scale and refine its trading infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Establish production support, deployment, configuration, and proactive monitoring practices to minimize downtime
  • Maintain health and availability of trading systems for continuous operation
  • Respond to trader and engineer support requests
  • Coordinate with external partners (exchanges, clearing firms) to resolve issues
  • Collaborate across global teams to ensure consistent 24x7 support
  • Create documentation for procedures, troubleshooting, and system architecture
Key requirements
  • 2+ years in the financial industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field
  • Exposure to Git/Github (VCS)
  • Scripting abilities in Python and Bash
  • SQL proficiency
  • Linux and command-line fluency
  • Service-oriented mindset
  • Experience with proprietary trading systems and production incident troubleshooting
  • Ability to work under high pressure with cross-functional teams
  • Experience developing automation and monitoring tooling
  • Service-oriented mindset
