Overview
As a Trading Systems Engineer, you will help maintain a world-class trading ecosystem, partnering with traders, engineers, and exchanges to ensure uptime and performance. You will tackle complex technical problems, contribute to automation and monitoring, and onboard new trading desks. The role sits at the intersection of trading, infrastructure, and software development, offering opportunities to influence how DRW handles high-pressure market environments. You will work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve reliability, with a clear focus on enabling fast, autonomous decision-making in global markets.
Responsibilities- Maintain health and availability of the trading ecosystem
- Respond to support requests from traders and software engineers
- Contribute to automation and monitoring solutions to reduce manual configuration and improve uptime
- Liaise with external trading partners (exchanges, clearing firms) to resolve technical issues
- Onboard new trading desks, systems, and technologies
- Minimum 5 years in trade support, site reliability engineering, or related fields
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field
- Familiarity with trading platforms and financial markets
- Thrives in high-pressure environments with traders and engineers
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments
- Experience with Python and Bash for automation
- Ability to craft complex SQL queries
- Basic networking knowledge (multicast, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and troubleshooting tools
