Overview

As a Training Solution Architect, you will lead the integration of submarine training systems for the UK MOD ITS, aligning courseware, devices and training media. You’ll collaborate with engineering, IA, safety, and external stakeholders to deliver a coherent training pipeline and enable effective handovers. The role is primarily home-based with travel, requiring security clearance readiness. This position offers meaningful impact on national security training capabilities within a cross-functional, high-availability environment.

Responsibilities
  • Identify issues affecting delivery of training systems and define solutions to mitigate them
  • Coordinate requirements with functional specialists to plan on-site integration
  • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders for effective collaboration
  • Oversee end-to-end integration of course elements, devices and courseware from development to installation and commissioning
  • Serve as subject matter expert on installation, commissioning, and handover
  • Ensure acceptance criteria are met and artifacts (e.g., Transition to Service Plans, Operation Manuals) are delivered
  • Collaborate with Information Assurance and Safety & Environmental Leads to meet device requirements
  • Coordinate with Courseware and Media Developers to satisfy current and future needs
  • Engage with Security representatives to ensure compliance with handling of protected materials
  • Provide regular metrics-driven reporting on integration progress and handover status
Key requirements
  • Recent experience with operation and training of complex submarine systems
  • Experience delivering integration projects
  • Knowledge of Defence training systems
  • Analytical problem-solving in secure environments
  • Ability to work across security classifications and apply Secure by Design principles
  • Able to form effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Configuration management experience
  • Security clearance (possess or able to obtain)
