TypeScript Billing Platform Engineer

Build TypeScript microservices for Kong’s billing platform, applying backend engineering and distributed systems expertise. Work on commercial infrastructure where data accuracy directly impacts revenue.

As a Software Engineer, you will contribute to Kong’s Billing Platform Team across subscription management, entitlement provisioning, usage metering, and CRM integrations. The work spans production services, event-driven architecture, financial workflows, and operational reliability. You will develop expertise in distributed systems and financial platform engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop TypeScript microservices supporting self-serve and enterprise billing lifecycles
• Integrate payment processing and usage metering platforms
• Implement Kafka-based billing state and entitlement events
• Build provisioning workflows from sales contracts to configurations
• Write tested code and monitor billing service health

Requirements:

• Three-plus years building backend software services
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js production service experience
• Relational database modeling and query design experience
• REST API and third-party integration experience
• Kubernetes, distributed systems, and message-based architecture familiarity
