Overview

As an experienced development underwriter or underwriting/claims leader, you drive risk-informed growth for SCOR across development, tenders, partnerships and new propositions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape underwriting and claims strategies, leveraging data to inform pricing and risk selection. Your work supports SCOR’s mission to expand market presence while maintaining risk discipline. You will share expertise through thought leadership, client engagements and industry forums, guided by The SCOR Way.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with clients and internal teams to achieve underwriting & claims strategies
  • Lead market benchmarking and share insights to drive changes in industry practices
  • Collaborate across SCOR to co-create innovative reinsurance solutions and pricing factors
  • Leverage data to identify market trends and support underwriting & claims developments
  • Review client underwriting proposals and pricing in collaboration with the wider SCOR team
  • Recommend targeted enhancements to improve risk selection and access to insurance
  • Ensure underwriting/claims compliance with legislative issues (e.g., data protection)
  • Deliver thought leadership through presentations, articles, and industry events
  • Manage or contribute to underwriting audits and horizon scanning activities
  • Support change initiatives in underwriting philosophy or propositions
Key requirements
  • Experienced Development Underwriter or underwriting/claims leader with significant insurance or reinsurance experience
  • Recent or current Underwriting authorities
  • Cross-functional experience
  • Holistic view of risk management and impact of underwriting/claims on claims experience
  • Strong product, technical and industry knowledge
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Experience delivering process, philosophy or propositional change
  • Curiosity and desire to support and drive change in underwriting & claims
  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised and pull in resources as required
  • Proficiency with data in risk management decision making
  • Project management capabilities
  • In depth knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
