Job Title: Medical Director Skilled Nursing Facility

Position Type: Part-Time / Independent Contractor
Hours: 18 hours per month
Contract Duration: January 1, 2027 December 31, 2027 (1-Year initial term, renewable up to 3 years)
Position Overview Vivo HealthStaff is seeking a qualified Physician to serve as the Medical Director for a Skilled Nursing Facility located in Nantucket, MA. This position provides clinical leadership, policy development, quality improvement, and overall clinical oversight.
Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Leadership & Oversight: Provide overall physician leadership and guidance for facility care standards and clinical protocols.
  
• On-Site Visits & Meetings: Complete at least one monthly on-site visit and participate in monthly committee meetings.
  
• Policy & Quality Management: Lead policy development, quality improvement initiatives, and infection control guidance.
  
• Administrative Duties: Oversee physician credentialing, staff education, and medical documentation reviews.
  
• Collaboration: Report directly to the Facility Administrator and collaborate effectively with department heads.
  

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensure: Active, unencumbered Medical License (MD/DO) in the State of Massachusetts.
  
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in long-term care / skilled nursing settings.
  
• Compliance: Ability to provide tax compliance certification and non-collusion documentation.
  
• Insurance: Required professional liability/malpractice insurance coverage.
  
• References: Professional references upon request.
  

Schedule & Workload

• Total Time Commitment: Up to 18 hours per month
  
• Schedule Structure: Flexible monthly hours with mandatory minimums of 1 monthly on-site visit and 1 monthly committee meeting.
  

Compensation & Billing

• Hourly Rate with malpractice provided
  
• Overtime: Hourly rate provided for pre-approved hours exceeding the monthly limit.
