Job Details

  • Schedule: Every weekend, Friday at 7:00 AM through Monday at 7:00 AM

  • Practice Setting: Inpatient hospital and Emergency Department call

  • Reason for Coverage: Coverage gaps

  • Patient Population: Approximately 95% adult and 5% pediatric

  • Average ED Walk-Ins: Approximately 20% of patients

  • Call Back Hours: Approximately 4-5 hours per 24-hour shift (source information also references 8 hours; please confirm)

  • EMR: Epic

  • Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days

Clinical Responsibilities and Procedures

  • General urology, including adult and pediatric patients

  • Advanced endoscopic techniques

  • Laparoscopic surgeries

  • Percutaneous nephrolithotomy

  • Ureteroscopy

  • Radical cystectomy with ileal loop conduit

  • Radical prostatectomy and prostatectomy

  • Nephrectomy

  • Renal and bladder ultrasound, including ultrasound with biopsy

  • Transrectal ultrasound (TRUS) biopsies

  • Incontinence management

Preferred Procedures

  • Pelvic lymph node dissection

  • Robotic surgery

  • Partial nephrectomies and intraoperative ultrasound

  • Adrenalectomy

  • Penile prosthesis

  • Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL)

  • Brachytherapy

Facility and Support

  • Fully functioning Level III Trauma Center

  • On-site laboratory and X-ray

  • Anesthesia available on-site

  • Support from RNs and advanced practice providers

  • Urology group consists of 3 urologists and 1 mid-level provider

Requirements

  • Board Certification: Board-certified in Urology

  • License: Active Colorado license or active IMLC

  • Certifications: Active BLS required

  • DEA: Active DEA required

  • Candidate Preference: Local or drive-in candidates highly preferred
