Clinical Role RecruitWell is seeking a Board Certified Urologist for locums coverage in Providence, Rhode Island. This opportunity includes outpatient clinic, inpatient rounding, surgical care, and call coverage across two hospitals. Providers interested in 24-hour call-only coverage may also be considered.
Assignment Details
Coverage: February 2027 - July 2027
Option to extend
Approximately 1 week/weekend of coverage per month
Monday-Friday clinic schedule
Clinic hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Night call: 5:00 PM - 8:00 AM
Weekend call: 8:00 AM - 8:00 AM
Friday weekend call begins at 5:00 PM and continues through Monday at 8:00 AM
24-hour call-only providers may be considered
Position Highlights
General Urology locums opportunity
Adult patients only, ages 18+
Outpatient, inpatient, surgical, and call responsibilities
Coverage across two hospitals
Approximately 20-25 clinic patients per day
Inpatient rounding varies from approximately 4-10 patients
General Urologic oncology included
No robotic surgery
Established outpatient practice with 3 physician partners
Clinical Details & Responsibilities
Provide outpatient General Urology care
Round on inpatients at both hospitals
Manage general Urologic conditions, including cancers
Participate in night and weekend call coverage
Evaluate and treat urgent and emergent Urologic conditions
Perform surgical procedures as clinically indicated
Coordinate care with physician partners and clinical support staff
Complete timely clinical documentation

No pediatric Urology
Patient Volume
Clinic: approximately 20-25 patients per day
Inpatient rounding: approximately 4-10 patients
Surgical volume: approximately 8-10 cases, variable by schedule

110-bed hospital
OR capacity:
Facility 1: 8 operating rooms
Facility 2: 10 operating rooms
Requirements
Board Certified in Urology required
Active Rhode Island medical license required
Rhode Island DEA required
Rhode Island CSR required
BLS required
ACLS required
Must be comfortable with general adult Urology
Pediatric patients will not be seen

Combination of clinic, inpatient rounding, surgery, and call
