US GAAP Consultant - 3+ Months

Our client is looking for a US GAAP Consultant for a 3+ months contract to support a major IFRS to US GAAP transition project. We're looking for a highly technical accounting professional who can quickly add value and has previous experience supporting similar conversions. Accounting Designation CPA with prior IFRS to US GAAP conversion experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the organization's transition from IFRS to US GAAP.
• Research, analyze, and document complex accounting issues and technical accounting positions.
• Prepare technical accounting memos and supporting documentation.
• Assess differences between IFRS and US GAAP and recommend appropriate accounting treatments.
• Partner with finance, reporting, audit, and external advisory teams throughout the conversion process.
• Assist with financial statement impacts, disclosures, and reporting requirements.
• Support implementation of new accounting policies, processes, and controls resulting from the conversion.
• Provide guidance on complex accounting matters and emerging US GAAP requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• CPA, CA designation.
• Extensive US GAAP knowledge and practical application experience.
• Strong technical accounting background.
• Demonstrated experience researching and resolving complex accounting issues.
• Experience preparing accounting position papers and technical memoranda.
• Strong financial reporting experience within public company environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and operate effectively in a consulting environment.
