User Acceptance Testing Lead

In this role you will lead and coordinate User Acceptance Testing for the Lifelong Learning Entitlement programme within Academic Services. You will own the UAT approach, scenarios and test plans, guiding testers and SMEs to ensure delivered functionality meets requirements and end-to-end journeys. You will manage test execution, defects, and evidence for sign-off, while aligning with project milestones. You’ll gain handover on the LLE solution and contribute to testing excellence in a large university context.

• Own and refine UAT approach, scenarios, test plan and test pack; align testing with delivered functionality
• Coordinate UAT activity against project milestones; allocate and monitor tester work
• Brief and support UAT Testers; serve as first point of contact for testing queries
• Identify, escalate risks and blockers affecting UAT and go-live readiness
• Ensure test scripts cover required scenarios and maintain test results and coverage
• Coordinate defect triage, retesting, and regression testing; manage defects and evidence
• Track UAT progress and sign-off readiness; gather evidence for business sign-off and go-live decision
• Use Azure DevOps to manage test plans, cases, execution, results and defects; ensure traceability
• Utilise Microsoft 365 tools (Teams, SharePoint, Excel) to support testing, reporting and collaboration
• Contribute to continuous improvement of UAT processes and documentation

• Experience of UAT, business or system testing in a project/change environment
• Experience planning and coordinating UAT or equivalent testing activity
• Experience working with UAT scenarios, test plans and scripts
• Experience managing/coordinating defects, including retesting and regression testing
• Experience using Azure DevOps or comparable test management tool
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and quickly learn unfamiliar systems and processes
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
