User Researcher (Defence)

As an experienced User Researcher (Consultant) at Kainos, you drive actionable insights to shape service experiences around user needs. You coach others in needs-based design, design thinking and service design, while leading a small team’s development and performance. You contribute to a growing Experience Design capability delivering high‑quality digital services. You work with clients to align research with project goals and make a measurable impact on millions of users.

• Lead, plan, develop and conduct research activities with appropriate methods
• Collaborate with client teams to design relevant research plans and strategies
• Design and lead workshops across project lifecycles
• Represent user research across the organisation
• Coach and develop senior team members and broader community
• Communicate effectively at all levels and manage stakeholders
• Maintain expert knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods
• Apply information architecture, interaction design and visual design principles

• UK Defence Industry experience
• Active SC clearance
• Expert knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods
• Strong understanding of information architecture, interaction design, and visual design principles
• Ability to coach and develop staff and senior team members
• Strong stakeholder management and commercial awareness
