Overview
In this role you guide user research to inform product and service design within a growing digital consultancy. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to uncover user needs, shape decisions with evidence, and lead research activities across the product lifecycle. You’ll advocate for user-centred design and help scale research practices within the organization. This is an opportunity to impact both public and private sector projects and drive meaningful, user-focused outcomes.

- Plan and deliver high-impact research with cross-functional teammates (PMs, Designers, Developers)
- Develop deep understanding of users to inform design decisions
- Lead research activities and select appropriate methodologies
- Conduct qualitative studies (interviews, observations, diary studies, usability testing)
- Run quantitative studies (surveys) and collaborate with analytics to enrich insights
- Consider end-to-end user journeys within business, policy, and technical constraints
- Present findings clearly to engage teams in analysis and synthesis
- Promote user-centred design principles and best practices across teams and the organization
- Proven experience leading user research programmes with diverse methods
- Experience across discovery to delivery stages of the product/service lifecycle
- Existing Security Check (SC) Clearance or eligible to obtain it
- Experience with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and design principles
- Excellent communication, storytelling, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills
- Experience in multidisciplinary agile teams influencing design through user insights
- Familiarity with prototypes to test hypotheses and evaluate journeys
