UX/UI Designer for Mobile App Agency - Part Time

Pocket App are an independent mobile UI & UX app development company.

In the past 15 years we have worked on over 300 projects with companies small and large worldwide and as a result, our award-winning work has been recognised by the industry. We are based near Oxford Circus tube station in the heart of London.

This role is part-time (2 or 3 days a week) and for the duration of 1 year. With attendance onsite at our central London office and some remote working.

Roles and responsibilities

• Attend client meetings to take briefs and discuss potential solutions.
• Lead on design projects in response to the brief to establish the proposed solution and design.
• Collaborate with the rest of the design team and wider development team to define and implement innovative solutions for the project direction, visuals and experience.
• Execute all visual design stages from wireframe & concepts to final hand over to development.
• Review & feedback on builds from a design perspective to ensure they match the original proposed designs.
• Create wireframes, design prototypes, user flows, process flows and mock ups to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
• Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and external clients.
• Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.
• Assist in creation of sales material for pitches with business development team.

Skills and experience

• Able to use the standard design and prototyping software including Figma
• Strong verbal and written skills to explain design decisions and approach
• 2+ years experience
• Ability to rapidly plan, design and prototype design approaches
• Experience working with established brands and following strict guidelines
• Experience designing for an in-house development team would be advantageous
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, Google Stitch and similar for prototyping and designing a massive bonus.
