Overview

In this role you act as ABS's technical expert for verification activities across onshore and offshore energy installations worldwide. You will perform routine verification examinations and prepare precise reports to support independent verification services. You will engage with clients to resolve issues and maintain orderly verification files, contributing to safe and compliant operations in oil & gas and renewables. The position underpins ABS’s mission to advance safety and regulatory compliance across global energy projects. This is a globally-focused, technically demanding role with meaningful impact on safety and performance.

Responsibilities
  • Act as ABS’s professional specialist for verification activities.
  • Perform routine verification examinations on units under ABS as the Independent Verification Body.
  • Prepare technically accurate and timely verification reports.
  • Engage with clients to resolve problems and assist in developing and maintaining verification documentation.
  • Maintain verification files in an orderly and up-to-date manner in area of responsibility.
Key requirements
  • HNC / HND / Degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Membership of a recognized professional institution or Engineering Council preferred
  • Experience in a similar verification role is advantageous
  • Proficiency in English as required for statutory certification and services
  • BOSIET, MIST, and ATEX qualifications preferable
  • Understanding of Offshore Installations Regulations and related safety directives
  • Ability to read engineering plans and understand oil and gas practices and installations
  • Ability to perform examinations in prescribed formats
  • Ability to develop working knowledge of ABS Rules, Guides, regulations, and related instructions
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
