Overview

As a Digital Architect for VBSE, you will define end-to-end digital architectures across web, mobile, API, and security domains to be scalable, secure, and operable. You will lead architectural governance and ensure alignment with VBSE standards, enabling efficient delivery of digital journeys. You’ll collaborate across Product, Delivery, Engineering, Cyber, and Operations to balance reuse with bespoke design, turning non-functional requirements into concrete architecture constraints. This role offers the chance to shape security-driven digital ecosystems at scale and work on meaningful national infrastructure initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Own end-to-end solution architecture for VBSE, produce HLD/LLD and govern design through delivery
  • Define and maintain digital reference architecture and reusable patterns (identity/auth, integration/TMF Open APIs, eventing, observability)
  • Embed security-by-design and align with enterprise authorization frameworks
  • Lead architecture reviews and design assurance across cross-functional teams
  • Translate performance, resilience and operability requirements into architecture constraints and hand over with clear artefacts
Key requirements
  • Proven digital architecture experience across microservices, APIs, cloud (Azure/AWS), mobile/web
  • Current DV clearance or eligibility and willingness for vetting
  • Proficiency in modelling and documentation
  • Security architecture knowledge (OAuth2/OIDC, zero-trust, secrets management)
  • Experience in air gapped/multi-air gap and cross-domain architecture
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science/Engineering or related field
  • Enterprise Architecture certification (e.g., TOGAF) desirable
