In this role you will shape the API platform and digital architecture for a large-scale, customer-facing platform. You will collaborate with architects, engineering leaders, and product teams to define standards, drive platform direction, and ensure secure, scalable, high-performance experiences. You’ll turn complex requirements into practical architectures and roadmaps that enable rapid delivery. • Define and evolve API platform strategy, architecture patterns, and technology standards
• Collaborate with digital, platform, and enterprise architecture teams on roadmap priorities and designs
• Guide solution architects with complex API platform enhancements and decisions
• Review designs for alignment with principles and target state architecture
• Promote simplicity, scalability, and cost efficiency by reusing existing platform capabilities
• Work with engineering teams to meet performance, security, and availability requirements
• Provide direction, reference architectures, and technical guidance to delivery teams
• Contribute to high-quality digital products at enterprise scale

• Extensive experience designing and delivering cloud-native, microservices-based APIs for large-scale platforms
• Strong expertise in modern cloud architectures, containerised and serverless solutions, managed services
• Solid knowledge of SOLID design principles and their practical application
• Deep RESTful API design knowledge with OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect
• Security best practices including OWASP Top 10
• Confident communicator able to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences
• Experience in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, Lean)
• Ability to develop architecture roadmaps, business cases, and transformation plans
• Experience with event-driven architectures
• Knowledge of TM Forum-compliant APIs advantageous
• Experience with Java and the Spring framework beneficial
• Exposure to AI agents or intelligent integration patterns a plus
• Cloud architecture certification (e.g., AWS Associate Architect) welcomed
