Overview

In this role within VodafoneThree's PaCE team, you’ll enable engineering squads to deliver scalable, resilient digital services. You will champion shift-left performance, reliability, and operational readiness, building frameworks and self-service tooling for early validation. You’ll integrate performance validation into CI/CD and define meaningful SLOs to guide capacity planning and resilience. You’ll collaborate across product, platform, and SRE teams to reduce risk and improve customer experience, shaping an in-house framework used by hundreds of engineers. Responsibilities
  • Embed non-functional testing, reliability, and scalability validation across the software development lifecycle
  • Integrate automated performance and resilience checks into CI/CD pipelines
  • Enable engineering teams with self-service tooling, frameworks, standards, and guidance for performance, resilience, and chaos testing
  • Champion engineering best practices including SLOs, observability, capacity planning, and operational readiness
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Platform, Architecture, and SRE to design resilient, scalable solutions and identify risks
  • Drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights and chaos engineering to validate system behavior under load and failure
  • Contribute to the development of an in-house performance framework used across the organization
Key requirements
  • Software development experience with distributed, high-performing systems in Python, React, Node.js, Java or Scala
  • Experience with cloud computing (AWS or Azure) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or CloudFormation)
  • Familiarity with observability tools and setting service level objectives (SLOs)
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset to identify improvements and bottlenecks
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD implementation and agile DevOps methods
