The Role
Energy Toolbase is seeking a Software Developer Intern to join our Web Applications team for a 16-month internship from May 2027 to August 2028. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience building applications that support the modeling, monitoring, and optimization of distributed energy storage systems (ESS) and photovoltaic (PV) systems. During your internship at ETB, you will work alongside experienced software engineers to develop innovative technologies across our Developer and Monitor platforms. You will have the opportunity to apply and expand your skills in web technologies, cloud computing, distributed systems, software development, and real-time systems while contributing to solutions that help customers design, manage, and optimize renewable energy projects around the world.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Write software using the most appropriate development methodologies
- Design, implement, and test software features utilizing our extensive suite of development tools
- Investigate and resolve defects as part of release development and reported from production systems
- Work with the Product Management and User Experience teams to deliver features and functionality that provide exceptional user experience
- Participate in all aspects of the software development process, including requirements definition (user stories), high-level designs, sizing and estimating exercises, code reviews, documentation and testing
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Familiarity with software programming languages. Our products are built using the following technologies:
- Monitor: Typescript, Node.js, React, Functional Programming, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, AWS
- Developer:Typescript, C#, Object Oriented, MySQL, REST, Azure
- Familiar with Linux systems
- Familiar with Docker containerization technologies
- Strong commitment to quality
- Ability to work in a team or as an individual
Education Experience
- Currently enrolled in 3rd year studies in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related program
