WebCompat Staff Software Engineer

Use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to reduce Firefox’s WebCompat backlog as a Contract Staff Software Engineer focused on site-breakage diagnosis.

Mozilla seeks a Staff Software Engineer for WebCompat bug triage and simple fixes. You will diagnose long-tail bugs, verify existing diagnoses, and write interventions or AI-assisted fixes. The work turns reported breakages into actionable or fixed bugs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Finish diagnosing long-tail WebCompat bugs
• Verify diagnoses for site-breakage reports
• Write WebCompat interventions where appropriate
• Write and land simple AI-assisted fixes
• Reproduce and triage incoming breakage reports

Requirements:

• Solid HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development skills
• Fluency with browser developer tools
• Comfort diagnosing cross-browser site breakage
• Comfort using AI tooling for diagnosis and fixes
• Prior WebCompat or web-standards experience
