Overview
In this Windows-focused Platform Engineer role, you will design, implement, and maintain Windows and Linux infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments for a high-profile quantitative trading client. You’ll automate and optimize OS, authentication, and virtualization services while collaborating with a tech-driven team. The position offers a hybrid London-based setup with a strong emphasis on hands-on problem solving and continuous learning. You will help scale, secure, and integrate critical systems that power trading workflows. This is a chance to shape platform engineering in a fast-paced, innovation-forward culture.
Responsibilities- Design, implement, and integrate infrastructure systems on Windows-based environments
- Maintain operating systems, authentication, databases, virtualization, core network services, and messaging
- Manage endpoints for Windows and Linux in on-prem and cloud settings
- Automate platform tasks and improve workflows using PowerShell (with possible C# exposure)
- Collaborate across cross-functional teams in a fast-moving, agile environment
- Troubleshoot complex problems and apply tracing tools to diagnose issues
- Work with Windows Server apps and management tools (Exchange, SQL, SCCM, Hyper-V, ADFS)
- Significant Windows systems automation experience
- PowerShell proficiency (ideally with some C# exposure)
- Deep understanding of Windows platform (Active Directory, Failover Clustering) and related technologies
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience with on-premises and cloud-based system integration
- Knowledge of networking concepts, Linux, and information security
- Experience with Windows Server applications and management tools (Exchange, SQL, SCCM, Hyper-V, ADFS)
- Experience with containers on Windows and Linux
