Workday Analyst

6 months contract- possibility of extension

Our client is seeking an experienced Workday Talent Functional Analyst to join their People Systems team on a 6-month contract, with the potential for extension. This role will be dedicated to Workday Talent capabilities and will play a key role in supporting and delivering a number of high-priority talent management initiatives over the coming months.

The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert for Workday Talent, partnering with Talent, HR, and People Systems stakeholders to design, configure, test, and deploy solutions that support critical talent programs across the organization. This is a highly collaborative role suited for someone who is comfortable moving from requirements gathering through configuration, testing, and deployment, while helping ensure Talent initiatives are delivered successfully and with minimal business risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the functional lead for Workday Talent-related initiatives within the People Systems team.
• Partner with Talent Management, HR, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into Workday solutions.
• Support the design, configuration, testing, deployment, and ongoing optimization of Workday Talent functionality.
• Configure and maintain Talent modules, including workflows, business processes, eligibility rules, notifications, security considerations, and system settings.
• Participate in design workshops and solution discussions, providing recommendations and best practices based on Workday Talent capabilities.
• Develop and execute functional testing plans, support user acceptance testing (UAT), and ensure system readiness for deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate how multiple talent initiatives fit together within the broader Workday ecosystem.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and potential impacts to existing talent programs and processes.
• Support the delivery of concurrent Talent initiatives and help ensure successful execution within established timelines.
• Work within Agile project delivery methodologies and manage work through Jira where applicable.
• Provide guidance to stakeholders on Workday Talent capabilities, limitations, and enhancement opportunities.
• Assist with documentation, knowledge transfer, and post-deployment support activities.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Workday functional experience.
• 1+ year of dedicated experience supporting Workday Talent and/or Workday Performance functionality.
• Experience gathering business requirements and converting them into functional Workday solutions.
• 2+ years of Workday configuration experience, including:
• Business process configuration
• Rules and eligibility setups
• Notifications and workflows
• Talent-related configuration updates and enhancements
• Experience supporting the full project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-production support.
• Strong understanding of talent management processes, including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, goal management, or related areas.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
