Overview

As a Data Consultant within Cognizant's Workday Practice, you guide clients through transformation, implementation, and operation of Workday Financials with a focus on data migration, validation, and optimisation. You will work across multiple client engagements, contributing to data-driven migration and quality outcomes in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You’ll leverage specialized Workday data tools to support tenant migrations and ensure data integrity. Responsibilities
  • Become a Workday Financials data expert across design, configuration, testing, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with project teams and clients to deliver outcomes across all implementation phases.
  • Utilise Workday tools (iLoad, EIB, Object Transporter, Advanced Load, Migration Recipe) for tenant-to-tenant migrations.
  • Design and develop data tracking, reconciliation, and monitoring tools for data accuracy.
  • Map and convert sources into data conversion templates aligned to Workday structures.
  • Guide data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and loading processes for migrations.
  • Support data migration activities including loading data, moving configurations, and aligning with business processes and security.
  • Develop ETL processes and data transformation logic to normalise financial data.
  • Validate and reconcile loaded data with legacy systems and financial requirements.
  • Engage with clients throughout the project lifecycle to ensure smooth transition from legacy to Workday Financials.
  • Manage multiple tasks under limited supervision and keep stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and issues.
  • Participate in training and knowledge sharing to build expertise.
Key requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT, MIS, Finance, or related field
  • Experience in ERP data conversion or financial systems implementation
  • Experience with Workday Financials (essential)
  • Understanding of financial data structures (GL, transactions, reporting)
  • Experience with data conversion, migration, and data loading tools
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with large datasets
  • Working knowledge of SQL or data querying tools (preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with technical and functional stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Eligibility for UK clearance (resided in UK for last 5 years and right to work in UK)
