Overview

As a Workday Platform Manager, you will lead the Workday platform’s development, governance and continuous improvement to support Finance, HR and other core processes. You will provide platform leadership across configuration, releases, performance, and supplier engagement, aligning the platform with organisational priorities. You’ll manage risk, cost and resilience while improving colleague experience. This is a pivotal, enterprise-scale role within a forward-thinking Business Platforms team that shapes our core systems and service delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee Workday platform development, governance and ongoing improvement
  • Lead configuration, release planning and service performance for Workday
  • Manage supplier engagements and operational support
  • Establish clear ownership, controls and ways of working for Workday as a strategic platform
  • Guide technical and functional specialists and assure changes before live deployment
  • Align platform initiatives with People, Finance, Procurement, IT and other business units
  • Manage risk, cost, resilience and colleague experience in platform delivery
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on integrations, IAM and security considerations
  • Maintain compliance and audit controls related to platform operations
  • Support incident, problem and change management for platform services

Key requirements
  • Experience managing an enterprise platform, preferably Workday or similar HR/finance platform
  • Strong governance, release management, change control, environment management and testing experience
  • Experience with Platform as a Service (PaaS)
  • Understanding of SDLC and agile delivery
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver enterprise-grade improvements
  • Knowledge of identity and access management, RBAC, data protection and compliance
  • Experience with integrations, APIs, middleware, data flows and interface design
  • Excellent stakeholder communication translating business needs into platform priorities
  • Strong supplier and stakeholder management, balancing service, roadmap, cost and risk
  • Familiarity with ITSM practices (incident, problem, change, knowledge, service requests)
  • Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Cross-functional collaboration and team leadership
