z/OS Mainframe Storage Consultant

In this role you will lead and support the zSeries storage infrastructure within a large z/OS environment, driving deployment, evergreen upgrades, and operational excellence. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to reduce complexity, automate storage operations, and ensure service quality. The role combines technical delivery with stakeholder and vendor management in a hybrid UK setup. You will be at the forefront of mainframe storage innovations, shaping resilient infrastructure for enterprise clients. • Lead technical projects for zSeries infrastructure deployment and evergreen upgrades
• Design, configure, test, implement and support zSeries storage hardware/software
• Develop automation to minimize manual storage interventions
• Test new software features and leverage their functionality
• Reduce infrastructure complexity and manage risk and cost
• Ensure service quality targets for platform services
• Manage business stakeholders and liaise with vendors

• Multiple years of z/OS systems experience, especially mainframe storage (IBM products)
• Experience with CA products (Vantage, CA Disk, CA Allocate)
• Experience with storage platforms in the Object tier (e.g., Dell EMC ECS, NetApp StorageGrid, Veritas, OpenText InfoArchive, Cloudian, VAST, Scality, IBM COS, Pure)
• Hardware support knowledge and troubleshooting
• IWS for housekeeping analysis
• Experience in Agile environments
• Automation scripting using API (e.g., Ansible, Python)
