Overview

In this role you will ensure a stable, secure, and highly available IBM z/OS mainframe platform for enterprise clients. You will join an enterprise infrastructure team that supports large-scale, mission-critical environments in banking and financial services. You will drive installations, upgrades, and maintenance of z/OS and related products, collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain performance and high availability. The opportunity offers exposure to parallel Sysplex, disaster recovery, and modern mainframe tooling within a global, client-focused organization.

Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain IBM z/OS operating systems
  • Manage IBM and CA/Broadcom system software across enterprise environments
  • Plan and execute OS upgrades and maintenance with SMP/E
  • Administer and support Parallel Sysplex for high availability
  • Performance monitoring, capacity planning, and resource optimization
  • Troubleshoot complex system-level issues across z/OS, middleware, and infrastructure
  • Coordinate with application support, security, and operations teams for stability
  • Implement maintenance, fixes, and vendor updates
  • Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and high-availability initiatives
  • Document configurations, procedures, and runbooks
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members
  • On-call and after-hours support for critical changes and incidents
Key requirements
  • 10+ years of hands-on z/OS Systems Programming experience
  • Deep knowledge of z/OS, SMP/E, TSO/ISPF, USS, SDSF, JCL, RACF
  • Strong expertise in Parallel Sysplex implementation and administration
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining IBM and CA/Broadcom mainframe products
  • Experience in large enterprise environments, preferably Banking/Financial Services
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and independent management of complex tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, SLA-focused production support
